GREEN NIGHTS
Colchón La Nuit, in its continuous improvement process, joins the fight against climate change and develops a renewable energy project that contributes to the sustainable economy of the planet. They are installing 220 photovoltaic panels that will produce a reduction of 67,370 tons of CO2 annually emitted into the atmosphere.
The production of electricity through solar energy and its efficient use contribute to sustainable development.
According to Energías Renovables Info, the Earth’s surface receives 120,000 terawatts of solar irradiation, “which is 20,000 times more power than the planet needs as a whole.”
The Union of Concerned Scientists maintains that 18 days of solar irradiation on Earth contain the same amount of accumulated energy as all the world’s reserves of coal, oil, and natural gas.
Solar energy is an essential element of a sustainable energy system that allows present development without jeopardizing that of future generations. Additionally, it does not emit greenhouse gases, thus not contributing to global warming. Therefore, it is a highly efficient tool against climate change as it does not release toxic substances or air pollutants.
